St Louis Guide For Visitors

Those in St Louis for a visit are sure to want to see as many of the sights as possible while they're here. You might be in town for a weekend away from your job doing valve repair or could be in the area for a huge family reunion. Whatever you're here for, there are lots of things to keep you busy. There are attractions like the Gateway Arch and Magic House, beautiful locations like Cahokia Mounds and Forest Park, and many events and festivals that happen throughout the year in many different city locations. This guide will help you find exactly what you're looking for so that you can make the most of your St Louis vacation.

Before you even arrive in St Louis, you're going to need somewhere to stay when you get here. If you're willing to splurge than you'll be very well looked after at the Four Seasons St Louis or Weston St Louis Hotel. If you want a good place in a great location you should try Drury Plaza Hotel at the Arch or Moonrise Hotel. And for those that enjoy something a little closer to a cozy Toronto bed & breakfast there is Fleur-De-Lys Mansion or Napoleon's Retreat Bed & Breakfast Inn. There are also specialty lodges and hostels for those who are interested in alternative accommodations.

Now, onto the best permanent attractions in the city. The Gateway Arch is a great way of seeing the whole city and the Mississippi River from 630 feet up. The Missouri Botanical Gardens are a must for those that are visiting the area in the summer months and have been voted as one of the world's top public gardens. If you spend most of your days stressing over everything from work to whether or not you should get an on demand hot water heater than you should take some time to enjoy the serenity of Cathedral Basilica. You don't need to be religious to appreciate its beauty and mosaics.

There are also several free attractions in St Louis. The zoo, Science Center, Art Museum, and Anheuser-Busch Brewery all have free tours and hours throughout the week. For family events, you can also pack up the swimsuits and organic diapers and head to locations like Six Flags St Louis and the World Bird Sanctuary.

There are many festivals and events happening in St Louis all the time. You could check out a cabaret performance at the Kranzberg Art Center after a conference on platinum bullion investing or head to the Legends of the Blues Festival in July.
